The mission of the Division of Fossil Fuels and Utility Services is to increase the economic opportunities and benefits to Kentucky citizens and industry through expansion of current markets and development of market opportunities for Kentucky coal, natural gas, petroleum, oil shale, tar sands, and liquid and gaseous fuels and chemicals from coal.

Coal Education Grants, Full Solicitation (PDF 112kB)
Proposals are sought from not-for-profit entities or groups of entities having qualifications and experience for successfully conducting programs or activities for the purpose of public education of coal-related issues.
One or more project will be awarded funding under this program. The successful respondent(s) to this Request for Proposals will have experience in developing and implementing projects that communicate the importance of coal to Kentucky’s citizens and economy, including but not limited to the history of coal in Kentucky, the contributions of coal to meeting Kentucky’s and America’s energy needs, the importance of coal to the Kentucky economy, and environmentally sound mining and utilization of coal.
